ROSCon is the annual gathering of the ROS Community in Spain, distinguished as a technical event rather than a scientific or marketing conference. It unites engineers and researchers from universities, research centers, individuals, and companies to showcase their projects, research, and robots utilizing ROS.
Last month, on the 19th and 20th of September, our partner, Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (URJC), participated in ROSCon at Universidad Pablo de Olavide in Seville. They contributed to the workshop “Programación en Tiempo Real en ROS 2” and delivered several presentations related to Coresense, including “Integración sistemática de sistemas robóticos usando tecnologías basadas en modelos (MDD) sobre ROS” and “ROS 2 en competiciones robóticas: Una arquitectura para Robots Sociales,” among others.
Below are the sessions that URJC was involved in during the event:
“Programación en Tiempo Real en ROS 2” workshop / Real-Time Programming in ROS 2 workshop.
– Francisco Martín Rico, José Miguel Guerrero Hernández, Francisco Miguel Olivo and Juan Carlos Manzanares Serrano.
“Cáscade Life Cycle Nodes: Un gran building block para arquitecturas de software de robots eficientes” / Cascade Life Cycle Nodes: A great building block for efficient robot software architectures.
– Francisco Martín Rico.
“Integración sistemática de sistemas robóticos usando tecnologías basadas en modelos (MDD) sobre ROS” / Systematic integration of robotic systems using model-based technologies (MDD) on ROS.
– Nadia Hammoudeh García and Francisco Martín Rico.
“El impacto del tiempo real en los sistemas de percepción activa aplicados a la robótica social” / The impact of real-time on active perception systems applied to social robotics.
– Alberto García.
“Rossdl: Aplicación de tecnología basada en modelos (MDD) para la generación de Sistemas en ROS 2” / Rossdl: Application of model-based technology (MDD) for the generation of Systems in ROS 2.
– Francisco Martín Rico.
“ROS 2 en competiciones robóticas: Una arquitectura para Robots Sociales” / ROS 2 in robotic competitions: An architecture for Social Robots.
– Juan Diego Peña Narvaez.
“Instrumentación de un robot en ROS 2” / Instrumentation of a robot in ROS 2.
– Juan Carlos Manzaneres Serrano
“Análisis del impacto de la configuración del sistema en el rendimiento de aplicaciones realistas basadas en arquitecturas software sobre ROS 2” / Analysis of the impact of system configuration on the performance of realistic applications based on software architectures on ROS 2.
– Rodrigo Pérez-Rodríguez and Francisco Miguel Moreno Olivo.
This was the second edition following last year’s event at URJC in Madrid. Next year, ROSCon is set to be hosted in Barcelona, organized by EureCat.
