On April 7th, the Coresense team travelled to Prague for their plenary meeting. Over two days, they gathered at the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics to present updates, align on progress, and agree on next steps.
Day 1: Technical Work Packages
The first day focused on technical work packages. After an introductory session outlining the agenda and practicalities, the team provided an overview of their recent work. This included updates on:
- Understanding and awareness theory
- Cognitive modules and structures
- Architecture for understanding
- Causal models
- Self-adaptive systems structure
- Risk awareness
- Explainability structure
- Physics-aware modelling module
- Lifecycle and toolchain
- ROSification of software assets
Day 2: Testbeds and Thematic Discussions
The second day centred on testbeds, workshops, and thematic discussions. Highlights included:
- Demonstration of manufacturing testbeds (Deliverable D.6.3)
- Project management updates, including upcoming events and activities
To conclude, the team enjoyed a tour of the lab, where they witnessed live demonstrations of the latest developments.
Conclusion/Next Steps
The meeting in Prague marked a significant milestone for the Coresense project. The project is now entering the testing and evaluation phase. The consortium confirmed alignment on the current technical developments and established a clear roadmap for the next phase. Moving forward, partners will focus on integrating the cognitive modules into testbeds, refining and testing the architecture, and preparing for upcoming deliverables. Collaboration will continue through regular virtual meetings, and the next plenary session is scheduled for autumn 2025 in Barcelona, at PAL Robotics.
